About me
LadyK (Kwamise Fletcher) is a nationally ranked spoken-word artist, self-published author, workshop facilitator, and playwright whose work blends personal testimony with powerful social critique. A dynamic force on the mic, she was crowned the 2025 Grand Slam Champion of Loudmouth Poetry Slam and has since captivated audiences across the country with her commanding stage presence and emotionally resonant storytelling.
Her work lives at the intersection of identity, faith, and Black womanhood, offering unflinching reflections on healing, resilience, and truth-telling. Whether she is unpacking personal experiences or challenging systemic injustice, LadyK’s poetry invites audiences into a space of deep connection and transformation. Her signature call, “Let’s go, poet,” has become more than a tagline...it is an energy shift, a communal invocation that encourages every voice in the room to rise to its fullest power.
Beyond the stage, LadyK is committed to cultivating the next generation of storytellers through workshops such as “Mic Drop Ready: From Pen to Podium,” where she equips poets with the tools to craft, perform, and navigate the world of competitive slam. She is also the creator of multiple self-published works, including her latest chapbook, Unconfirmed RSVP, which explores identity and transformation through the lens of perimenopause.
Through every performance, page, and platform, LadyK doesn’t just share poetry...she creates experiences that linger long after the final line.
