About me
Jamillah Hasan Oliver is the visionary Founder, CEO, and Chief Consultant of BreakBox Thought Collective, an innovative hub where art, culture, and healing intersect to reimagine community well being. A social entrepreneur, program designer, cultural strategist, and thought leader, Jamillah’s work centers the power of lived experience, ancestral wisdom, and creative expression as pathways to collective healing and social transformation.
Named a California Arts Council Established Artist Fellow, Jamillah is recognized for her groundbreaking approach that merges semiotics, polyvagal theory, and storytelling to illuminate how memory and art serve as vessels for resilience. Through BreakBox, she has cultivated spaces that nurture intergenerational dialogue, vicarious healing, and cultural renewal, bridging the arts with wellness and community care from womb to tomb.
Her leadership embodies a deep commitment to Afro Indigenous traditions, creative justice, and the belief that healing is both a personal and communal act. Whether serving as a social entrepreneur, designing transformative programs, curating community experiences, or mentoring emerging artists, Jamillah continues to expand the language of belonging, safety, and possibility through art.
